Workshop Description:This 90-minute workshop explores a key teaching concept: that thoracic rotation can prepare the spine for safer, more effective extension. Many clients struggle with back bending due to stiffness in the upper spine, often compensating with excessive lumbar movement. This can lead to discomfort or even injury if not properly addressed.

In this session, you’ll learn how to use rotational movement sequences to create space, release restrictions, and mobilise the thoracic spine — all before introducing extension. You’ll explore the role of the ribcage, breath, and fascial connections in supporting safe spinal movement and how these layers can be integrated into both Matwork and Apparatus programming.

Expect a thoughtful, practical class flow that gives you tools to teach extension from the right place, at the right time, with clarity and confidence.
