About the event
✅ 3 September – Pilates and Proprioception Workshop
Time: 90 minutesTitle: Pilates and Proprioception: Awareness Through InstabilityTeacher: Malcolm Muirhead
Workshop Description:In this 90-minute session, Malcolm will guide you through how to enhance proprioception — the body’s ability to sense movement, position, and effort — using instability, visual focus, and sensory variation. You’ll explore how even subtle changes in surface, input, or instruction can dramatically shift a client’s awareness, helping them move with greater intention and control.
This workshop will offer a practical blend of movement observation, client cueing, and progressive challenges, ideal for teachers working with rehab clients, older adults, or anyone needing support in balance and postural correction. Whether you're using a soft mat, foam pads, bands, or no props at all, you’ll gain strategies for teaching in a way that reconnects clients to their own body map.
You’ll leave with clear, accessible techniques to integrate proprioceptive training into both Matwork and Apparatus sessions.
